Mon / Wed / Fri: 9:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Shift located at day program in Sorrento Valley)

Tue / Thu: 7:45 AM – 3:45 PM (Shift starts at client’s home to ride the MTS Bus with him to/from program in Sorrento Valley)
About the Role: ComForCare Home Care San Diego & La Jolla is seeking a reliable, physically strong, and confident caregiver to provide 1-on-1 support for a young adult male with special needs under the Self-Directed Services (SDP) program.
The client attends a day program in Sorrento Valley 5 days a week. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, you will meet him at his home and ride public transit (MTS Bus) with him to and from the program.
Requirements & Qualifications:

Physical Capability: Client is large in stature and strong. Candidates must be physically strong, active, and comfortable managing his size safely (male or strong female caregivers encouraged to apply).

Behavioral Management: Experience working with adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities and following behavioral plans. Client requires clear direction, firm boundaries, and consistent redirection.

Transit Comfort: Must be completely comfortable riding public transit (MTS Bus) alongside the client on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Personality: Confident, assertive, patient, and engaging.

Reliability: Punctuality is critical due to bus schedules and program hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct 1-on-1 supervision and support at the day program in Sorrento Valley.
- Escort and assist the client on public transit (MTS Bus) between his home and Sorrento Valley on designated days.
- Execute redirection strategies and implement guidance from his established behavioral support team.
- Assist with basic needs as necessary (client is independent with toileting but needs verbal direction).
